Patrizia Bigotti, following a specialization in Classic Studies, graduated from the University of Studies of Rome “La Sapienza” with a “Laurea di Dottore in Psicologia” (Psychology of Work and Organizations).
One of her areas of focus while doing post-graduate work at the University was “Corso di Perfezionamento in Metodologia della Ricerca Sociale” (Methodology of Social Research).

As a Social Psychological Researcher at the most prominent research facility in Rome, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (C.N.R.), one of her main interests was the study of the function of memory. Her research on this subject appeared in her article “Validazione Italiana del Memory Functioning Questionnaire,” published by the “Bollettino di Psicologia Applicata” (2000, 230, 37-46).

When she moved to New York City in 1998, she knew that her research experience in memory could be used to effectively teach the Italian language. She developed a method for helping students to memorize the language, and has taught Italian for the Italian Cultural Institute and Parliamo Italiano in New York City, and now conducts her own private classes.
